Vesting Single Coat HardWax Oil with hardener is a two part system for high use wooden surfaces. It’s an all natural, earth friendly, unique combination of oils and wax that gives wood surfaces a stunning appearance, with a deep rich color. The finish soaks into the pores of the wood to preserve it’s natural look. Not only is this finish pleasing to the eye, but it is extremely durable. Vesting Single Coat is a moisture and dirt repellant finish that is highly scratch resistant. This product is also extremely easy to use and can be touched up locally if needed. The added Hardener gives the finish added strength and reduces full cure time to 7 days (versus 21 days full cure without the hardener). This product should only be used by professionals.
The wood surface should be clean and dry. Treat a sample area on the surface to ensure the color is correct. For maximum adhesion, the surface should be sanded at 120 grit. Pay close attention to the sanding process as imperfections can be highlighted. For example, if using an orbital sander, the swirl marks will be highlighted when the wood is finished.
Mix the entire can of hardener with the liter of HardWax oil. Mix thoroughly. Apply using a roller or a brush (can be sprayed), in a thin uniform layer. Let it soak in for a few minutes and then remove any excess oil with a clean, lint-free cloth. Excess oil will give optical irregularities on the surface and have a negative effect on the hardening of the treated surface.
At 60 degrees Fahrenheit and relative humidity of 65%, drying time is 24-36 hours. With the hardener, the surface will reach best hardness in 7 days. For the first 7 days, do not clean or cover the surface.
Depending on the absorption of the wood, coverage is 40-50 square meters.
